CAMEL TROPHY VEHICLES - RIGID INFLATABLE BOATS (RIBs).

Thirty two competitors from 16 countries, selected via national trials from more than one million applicants, explored the exotic waters and remote cultures of Tonga and Samoa using specially customised Rigid Inflatable Boats (RIBs).

The boats, custom built by Ribtec of Southampton and powered by a massive 130hp 4 stroke Honda engine, were designed to cope with the huge demands of this aquatic challenge. Costing in excess of £40,000 new, no expense was spared in constructing these RIBs; no RIBs have ever been so highly specified. These really are the ultimate RIBs.

Throughout the three week event the RIBs were maintained by a highly qualified team of specialists, enabling the competitors to push themselves to the limit. Along the way they mountain biked, ran, climbed, swam, dived, snorkelled and paddled in search of the ultimate adventure and the Camel Trophy 2000.
